5 years in the making, from Ireland to Appalachia and back, my debut album: Red Rockin' Chair! The album includes my arrangements of a few Irish songs, an awesome, ripping' old-time song called Red Rockin' Chair (from which the album gets its name), covers of Scythian's "Song of Sacrifice" and Tommy Sand's "There Were Roses," and a few of my original tunes and songs written with an Irish and/or Appalachian feel.

I learned this from Scythian’s album, Dance at the Crossroads, and have since heard many other recordings of this beautiful tune by the great Irish harpist and composer O’Carolan. I played this on a newly invented instrument, the guitar dulcimer, (called The Merlin and created by Seagull Guitars in Canada). This simple instrument has a sound that I think bridges Appalachian and Irish music well.
